The Pickaquoy Centre Wins Scotland Health Club Of The Year

The Pickaquoy Centre has won the Scottish Gold Health Club Award at the 2011 Health Club Awards as voted for by its users.  The format of the award scheme enables small, independent clubs and Centre's to compete on a level playing field with larger chains within the UK.

The awards are unique in the health industry as winners are decided by members of health clubs who are asked to complete a questionnaire rating their own club on the level of service, facilities and value for money.  Over half a million pieces of data was gathered from over 16,000 customers earlier this year.

The Centre was short listed against Nuffield Health in Aberdeen and East Kilbride and Pure Gym in Edinburgh and Glasgow but Orkney came out top in Scotland.

Mark Harrison, General Manager said:

'We are delighted and overwhelmed to have won this award and pride ourselves on providing a quality service that meets the needs of users.  This is an important award as it is voted upon by the users.  I would like to thank the customers who took the time to vote and the hard work and dedication of the staff.'
